GENERAL

Cask Ale
After many requests to reinstate our cask ale we are now serving Sharps Cornish Coaster in the bar, it is a Golden beer with medium head and good lacing. It has an aroma and taste of malts, a little honey with a touch of lemon and spices; overall a very nice quality ale, please try it for yourself.

Birthdays
Happy Birthday this week to; Tommy Dunne, Ken Mayo, Eddie Hicks, Jamie Owen and Liam Maguire.

Greens
A big well done to Jamie and his hard-working greens staff for their efforts on Monday & Tuesday with hollow tining the greens and tees this week, they used 25 tonnes of sand. The work did not all go to plan but they managed to overcome a few hiccups and complete everything before the heavy rain that was expected on Wednesday. This has resulted in a good quality surface, that is running very true, only five days after the start of the project, well done to Jamie, Justin, Oliver, Jose & Tito.

Thank-you
To Jim Smith & Paul Knight for their help this week and to Bob Stephenson, Steve McGovern, Keith Dyson, Steve Chamberlin & Colin Greenshields for their kind offer of assistance and being stood down at the last minute.

Middlesex Handicap Championship
This year the event is being played here at West Middx; it is 18 holes on 17th September.
Entrants must be aged 18 or over on the day of the Championship and must hold a handicap of 9.5 or higher on the date their entry for the Championship is submitted. Entry forms are in office or via the Middx County website.

Captain & Pro Playoff Update
Due to the number of members still waiting to play their match, the Captain has organised two dates 19 August and 15 September where any pairing can play. The Capt. & Pro will play and mark a card, every other team will also mark a card and that will be compared afterwards to the Capt. & Pro score.
More details will follow, but please enter your name for the respective date on the notice board outside changing rooms. The golf on each roll up day will be followed by an informal dinner and presentation; the cost of the dinner is included in your entrance fee.

On the evening of 15 September (after the second roll up date) there will be a Capt. & Pro Auction in advance of the main event on 16 September.
